Description

This is a Brand New 19 tooth speedometer driven gear for 1961, 1962, & 1963 Dynaflow Transmissions (1961-63 LeSabre, Invicta, Wildcat, Electra, and Riviera models). This gear is molded. An installation instruction sheet as well as new seals are included.

In the package there will be a “Speedometer Gear Check List”, you MUST go through all the steps of this check list before installing this new speedometer gear. You must do this to ensure there are no other issues with the speedometer system. Failure to do the check list correctly could result in a damaged/broken gear. For example never use a drill on the end of the speedometer cable to see if the speedometer works, in this case.

Buick used 5 different tooth counts on the 61-63 Dynaflow speedometer gears. The 5 choices are: 17, 18, 19, 20, 21. Please remove your old gear and count the number of teeth before purchasing. If you need a different tooth count, please see my other listings or ask.

Each speedometer gear mates to a specific driven gear on the output shaft of the transmission. If you are not sure what speedometer gear you need please reach out to me and we can try and figure it out. If you install the wrong tooth gear this can cause the gear to fail.
