Description

This is a Brand New Hi Flow water pump with thermostat and timing cover gasket for a 401 and 425 cubic inch Buick Nailhead engine. This water pump/thermostat/timing cover gasket set will fit 1962-1966 Nailhead engines. This is a custom made high flow 12 blade water pump.

The impeller is designed to generate higher flow rates and increase system pressure. Increasing the coolant flow rate through the block reduces the cycle time between the engine and the radiator providing more opportunity for heat exchange. When flow rate is maximized, the higher flow rates raise engine block pressure to prevent the formation of steam pockets in the water jacket and the vapor barrier that can cause hot spots on cylinder walls.

Also included is a special thermostat to be used with this water pump. The thermostat has a unique three port construction or balanced sleeve design equalizes the system pressures above and below the thermostat’s moving valve. Therefore the thermostat is pressure balanced and will respond to system temperatures only. No other thermostat does this.

I also am including a complete timing cover gasket so you have all of the gaskets to install the water pump and a new thermostat with some extras (you can never have to many extra gaskets).
